Silver Creek is focused on creating a world where everyone has a comfortable place to live, a productive place to work, and an inspiring place to learn. In business since 2005, the California-based builder has set a high standard in the offsite construction industry with superior-quality modular buildings constructed in half the time as onsite builds. At Stream Logistics, we’ve had the privilege of watching them do amazing work firsthand as their modular building transport partner on a number of projects.
Silver Creek is committed to doing modular construction projects that take less time, produce less waste, and have less disruptions than onsite construction. They believe in using innovative ways to build smarter, and their goal is to deliver buildings their clients are as proud of as they are. But, it’s Silver Creek’s dedication to the education and residential housing sectors that sets them even further apart. Stream Logistics’ Aaron Morton explains, “All of their buildings bring positive change to the community in one way or another.”
Over nearly two decades, Silver Creek has completed 1.6k projects, building over 12k modules. The company has also grown immensely, even buying its own trucks to run operations. But, that wasn’t enough to keep up with the growing demand for modular buildings and the company’s trusted, superb builds.
“The company has grown so much that it just can’t rely on its own trucks anymore,” Morton explains. “At the same time, they really needed a logistics partner who could step up to the plate and provide the same kind of quality, professionalism and efficiency their team did. There couldn’t be any sacrifices. They needed a partner who was more than a supplement, but an asset.”
So Stream Logistics joined the team as the modular building transport partner for their steel-framed module projects. Working together, Silver Creek could re-focus their energy and talents on design and modular construction while we handle the influx of logistics.
For one, we’ve been helping Silver Creek coordinate logistics for their high-volume steel-framed modular projects. These high-stakes projects require a lot of coordination between cranes and the number of people on site. Delays cost thousands of dollars per hour — so the stakes for flawless performance are quite high. If things are delayed or out of sequence, Silver Creek is losing money, damaging their reputation, and putting the project success at risk.
What’s more, any sort of poor coordination on the day of delivery takes away from all the advantages that draw people toward modular construction. What Silver Creek needs is impeccable communication, planning and execution to make sure they stay on time and on budget. People purchase modular units because of their speed to occupancy, and we’re proud to be on their project management team to help them meet those important timelines for the communities they serve.
Working with many modular construction companies, Stream Logistics sets high standards for modular transport companies with a strong understanding of modular building transport — and how to do it successfully. But, we still take the necessary extra steps to ensure each and every project goes off without a hitch.
That means that we don’t just provide the trailers and call it a day. For Silver Creek, we actually flew out to see their units and how they’re manufactured. We also visited their job sites and spoke to the crew involved so we could not only coordinate but start building relationships. We do these kinds of project management visits so that we can plan every detail for success — from helping them pick the staging yards and pointing out security concerns to planning for two to four trailers coming up busy roads at the same time.
Going one step further, Stream Logistics provides important on-site support and careful coordination so Silver Creek can focus on what they do best. We’re invested in their success, and if that means flying out or making future investments to support them, we’re willing to do that. We want to see them succeed.”
