Why this apartment module is tilted like that

The tilted module you see here isn’t that way because one side is heavier than the other, nor is it operator error. It’s actually intentional. What you see here is called rendering. Rendering is when one side of the module is tipped up a little higher than the other side of the module as it’s being hoisted by a crane. The reason for rendering is to help set a module into place more accurately, although some modules can be lifted and set while perfectly level, that changes once a module is dependent on being mated with another module, which is the process of connecting them together. If you try to mate the module when it’s perfectly level, the chance that that crane is going to set it down perfectly where it’s snug against the adjoining module is really low. So having the lower side of the module touch the ground first allows the higher side to come down in a way to get a more accurate and tighter connection.
